Taking Good Care Of Molly Fish

                           Mollies are one of the most common fish seen in many home aquariums. Nowadays, Molly is one of most common ornamental tiny little colourful fishes easily available in any local pet store & there are varieties of molly fish.

                            Mollies(Poecilia sphenops) are tropical freshwater fishes. Generally, male mollies are more colourful & attractive than their female counterparts.

                                   Important Factors & practices to keep your mollies happy & healthy are as follows :

• Water Condition: Mollies can survive in almost any water conditions but are very sensitive to any water parameters change so it is very important to keep the water condition as consistent as possible. The water temperature required for mollies is in between 21 to 26 °C. Mollies prefer some salty water so it is good to always have some teaspoons of salt mixed in your tank water.

• pH Level: The ideal pH level for mollies is between 7.5 to 8.5 a slightly high pH level.

• Water Filtration: For mollies, any normal filtration system installed in your aquarium tank works well. As they like to swim on the surface in search of food it is recommended to use a filter which keeps the surface level very much stable.

• Feeding: Mollies feeds on a variety of available food items like small pellets, flakes, dried, plant matter, green vegetables, etc. Maintain a specific feeding time for your mollies. They are algae eaters as well and you can also feed them with green vegetables like cucumber, leafy vegetables, etc. They also feed on Blackworms, Bloodworms, Daphnia, etc.

• Male to Female Ratio: Male mollies get aggressive when there are lots of competition between them and it is not good at all for the females as they are chased every male mollies and female get stressed due to this. Sometimes they also die due to this constant chasing from the male for breeding.
